The cap is white to pale cream, bell-shaped then convex to expanded, silky to fluffy; its margin is toothed, exceeding.
The cap surface is not viscid nor sticky.
The stem is white, covered with thin and erect hair, bulbous, with a white to yellow sheathing volva, separated in two to four lobes, without ring.
The flesh is white, unchanging; its taste is mild; the odour is faint;
its texture is fibrous.
The gills are free .
The spore print is pink. This species is saprophytic.
It grows on the ground, in the woods (more frequently broad-leaved) or parks, on rich clayey soils, on a rather calcareous soil.
The fruiting period takes place from July to November.
