The fruiting body is shaped like a branched shrub, with cylindrical branches, uniformly yellowish to ochre, without stem, but with a slender white trunk with white mycelial strands at the base.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in broad-leaved and coniferous woods.

The fruiting period takes place from July to October.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 2.5 cm (between 1 and 4 cm)
  total height approximately 5 cm (between 2 and 7 cm)

Chemical tests : negative reaction of flesh when exposed to potash (KOH).

Distinctive features : branching; bitter taste; often in fused tufts; thin and erect branches, very close to each other;

Ramaria flaccida is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is infrequent, more generally speaking .
