We now get to the form which contains a set of simple questions, which should be completed as accurately as possible in order to gather data for the search engine.
We will now address in this tutorial each of these questions in turn for the example mushroom. We will then launch the search engine, which will return candidate species, sorted out according to the best match with the species we are looking for.
Note here that this system, unlike traditional identification keys, is not that sensitive to mistakes. You will not end up in a dead end if ever you provide a wrong answer during the process, simply because you missed or overlooked an important characteristic. However, the more incorrect answers are fed into the system, the less likely the chance of getting the right identification is.
In case of doubt, you always have the choice of stating that "you don't know the answer", but keep in mind that the more answers are given, the more accurate the results will be. Also, note that a same species may have very different characteristics (for example colours), but the search engine is aware of that and should not be impaired by these.
