The cap is cup-shaped, with a grey or brownish grey internal surface, the external being ash-grey, with a well differentiated stem, grey (same colour as cap), long and slender, hairy.
The fertile surface is smooth.
It grows on the ground, in the woods, on sandy soil.
The fruiting period takes place from June to December.
