The fruiting body is cup-shaped, with a wavy margin, sometimes laterally split, with an olive brown internal surface, the external surface being olive yellowish to whitish grey, hairy.

The flesh is yielding a liquid when cut;

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in parks, woods; gardens, on humus-rich and bare ground, on a rather calcareous soil.

The fruiting period takes place from June to December.
