The fruiting body is cup-shaped, irregulary wavy, laterally split, with an olive-brown to chestnut-brown internal surface, the external surface being red-brown, finely hairy.

The flesh is yielding a liquid when cut;

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in wet moors, in pathsides, on sandy ground.

The fruiting period takes place from June to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 6 cm (between 1 and 10 cm)
  total height approximately 2 cm (between 1 and 3 cm)

Peziza badia is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is frequent, more generally speaking .
