The cap is dark brown to black, with a central umbo. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky. The stem is blackish brown to black, without ring. The flesh is white to grey, unchanging; its taste is mild, radish-like; the odour is weak, of radish; its texture is fibrous, exuding when cut a whitish, unchanging latex. The gills are whitish grey, adnate, distant . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground. The fruiting period takes place from July to November.
