Helvella acetabulum (L:Fr.) Quél. |
The cap is deeply cup-shaped, supported by the vein-like ends of the stem halfway up, with a dark chestnut internal surface, the external being pale chestnut brown, with a well differentiated stem, whitish, veined or furrowed, ridged, becoming large veins under the cap. The fertile surface is smooth. It grows on the ground, in coniferous or deciduous woods, on pathsides and sandy grounds, on a rather calcareous soil. The fruiting period takes place from April to September.
Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet Helvella acetabulum is quite rare and localised in the forest of Rambouillet, and is occasional, more generally speaking . | ||
