The fruiting body is disk-shaped with a wavy margin, then irregularly flattened and wrinkled, with a grey-brown to dark brown-red internal surface, the external surface being of same colours or whitish when dry.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on wood, in coniferous woods, on stumps.

The fruiting period takes place from April to June.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 9 cm (between 3 and 15 cm)


Discina perlata is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is occasional, more generally speaking .
