The cap is ochre to beige on a pale cream background. The cap surface is scaly, not viscid nor sticky.

The stem is smooth, with a short-lived ring.

The flesh is unchanging; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are adnate, crowded . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground, in the woods, with beech.

The fruiting period takes place from September to November.
Dimensions: width of cap approximately 2.5 cm (between 1.5 and 5 cm)
  height of stem approximately 4 cm (between 3 and 6 cm)
  thickness of stem (at largest section) approximately 4 mm (between 2 and 6 mm)

Distinctive features : cap covered with thick mealy beige warts on a creamy-pale background; very thin stem

Cystolepiota adulterina is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is rare, more generally speaking .
