The fruiting body is cup-shaped, with a finely toothed margin, with a pale beige internal surface, the external surface being the same colour and hairy, with a short stem, not clearly marked from fertile head.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in parks, gardens, woods, on sandy soil.

The fruiting period takes place from May to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 3 cm (between 1 and 5 cm)
  total height approximately 1 cm (between 0.5 and 2 cm)
  width of stem approximately 0.3 mm (between 0 and 0.5 mm)


Tarzetta catinus is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is occasional, more generally speaking .
