The cap is sienna brown. The cap surface is smooth, velvety, non viscid nor sticky. The stem is dark brown, without ring. The flesh is white to yellowish, brown in the stem, turning slowly yellow when exposed to air (5 mns); its taste is mild or faint to bitter; the odour is not distinctive to bittersweet; its texture is fibrous. The gills are cream then ochraceous, decurrent, crowded (nb of gills per 90° ~ 48 ). The spore print is ochre brown. This species is saprophytic. It grows coming in scarce tufts, in mixed or coniferous woods, on dead pine wood or spruce, chestnut. The fruiting period takes place from June to November.
