The fruiting body is cup-shaped, irregular, with an ochre-brown internal surface, the external being of similar colours, with an ochraceous brown stem, not clearly marked from the fertile head.
The fertile surface is smooth.
It grows on wood, on fallen branches, on oaks.
The fruiting period takes place from April to December.
