The cap is orange yellow to brown, or steel grey. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky. The stem is brown to grey, without ring. The flesh is white, watery, unchanging; its taste is mild; the odour is not distinctive; its texture is fibrous. The gills are whitish grey, decurrent, crowded . The spore print is white. This species is saprophytic. The fruiting period takes place from October to March.
