The cap is brown to cream; its margin is striate when moist. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.

The stem is white.

The flesh is whitish to brownish, unchanging; its taste is mild; the odour is not distinctive; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are adnate, crowded . The spore print is very dark brown. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground.

The fruiting period takes place from July to November.
