The fruiting body is shallow cup-shaped, with a blue-black to violet internal surface, the external surface being grey-brown to black and hairy.

The flesh is yielding a liquid when cut;

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in the woods, on a rather calcareous soil.

The fruiting period takes place from August to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 1.5 cm (between 1 and 3 cm)

Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet

Peziza saniosa is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
