The fruiting body is cup-shaped, often in tufts, with a reddish-brown (and dark grey centre) internal surface, the external surface being reddish-brown at the margin and dark grey towards the base. The flesh is yielding a liquid when cut; The fertile surface is smooth. It grows on the ground, mostly on fire sites. The fruiting period takes place from July to December.
Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet Peziza petersii is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
