The fruiting body is cup-shaped, often in tufts, with a reddish-brown (and dark grey centre) internal surface, the external surface being reddish-brown at the margin and dark grey towards the base.

The flesh is yielding a liquid when cut;

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, mostly on fire sites.

The fruiting period takes place from July to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 4 cm (between 3 and 5 cm)
  total height approximately 1.5 cm (between 1 and 2 cm)

Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet

Peziza petersii is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
