The cap is cup-shaped, with a grey to brownish-grey internal surface, the external being of the same colour, with a well differentiated stem, grey to brown grey.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in coniferous or deciduous woods, in parks (under bushes).

The fruiting period takes place from April to December.
Dimensions: width of cap approximately 2 cm (between 1 and 3 cm)
  total height approximately 3.5 cm (between 1 and 5 cm)

Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet

Helvella dissingii is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is quite rare, more generally speaking .
