The cap is dark grey blue, with a central umbo. The cap surface is smooth, not viscid nor sticky.

The flesh is unchanging; its taste is mild; the odour is mushroomy; its texture is fibrous.

The gills are adnate, distant . The spore print is pink. This species is saprophytic. It grows on the ground, on a rather non calcareous soil, with spruce.

The fruiting period takes place from July to November.
