The fruiting body is club-shaped, finely roughened, with a slender stem, bright red-orange, with a stem not much differentiated from the fertile head, but paler.

The fertile surface is smooth.

It grows on the ground, in the woods, amongst moss or on slopes (parasite of larvae).

The fruiting period takes place from July to December.
Dimensions: width of fruiting body approximately 0.6 cm (between 0.3 and 1 cm)
  total height approximately 3.5 cm (between 2 and 6 cm)
