Bovista nigrescens Pers.:Pers. |
The fruiting body is spherical, irregular, smooth surface, flaking off in large scales when mature, white then red-brown, without stem, but with a unique mycelial strand. The fertile surface is internal: the spores are released as dust when mature. It grows on the ground, in moors, coniferous or deciduous woods, more often in high altitudes. The fruiting period takes place from June to December.
Distinctive features : sorry, no English description yet Bovista nigrescens is still unreported so far in the forest of Rambouillet, and is occasional, more generally speaking .
